Terms of Service
Last updated: May 29, 2026
These Terms of Service (“Terms”) govern the agreement between LTP Electrical Services LTD (“we”, “us”, “our”, or “the Contractor”) and the client (“you” or “the Customer”) for the provision of electrical services. By accepting a quote or allowing work to commence, you agree to be bound by these Terms.
1. Quotations and Acceptance
- All quotations are provided in writing and are valid for 30 days from the date of issue, unless otherwise stated.
- A quotation constitutes an offer to perform the specified works at the agreed price and is not binding until formally accepted by you.
- Acceptance is confirmed by signing the quote, paying a deposit, or providing written instruction to proceed.
- Any variation to the agreed scope of works must be agreed in writing and may result in a revised quotation.
2. Prices and Payment
- All prices are quoted inclusive of VAT where applicable, unless otherwise specified.
- A deposit of up to 50% of the quoted price may be required before work commences, particularly for larger projects requiring materials to be ordered.
- The remaining balance is due upon satisfactory completion of works, unless a payment schedule has been agreed in writing.
- Invoices are payable within 14 days of the invoice date. Late payments may incur interest at 8% per annum above the Bank of England base rate in accordance with the Late Payment of Commercial Debts (Interest) Act 1998.
- We accept payment by bank transfer (BACS), cheque, or cash. Card payments may be available upon request.
3. Scope of Works
- Works will be carried out as described in the agreed quotation. Any additional works identified during the project will be communicated to you before proceeding and will be priced accordingly.
- We reserve the right to cease or pause works if unsafe or unforeseen conditions are discovered (e.g. asbestos, hidden structural issues, non-compliant existing installations) until a safe resolution is agreed.
- The Customer is responsible for ensuring clear and safe access to all areas where work is required.
4. Compliance and Certification
- All electrical works are carried out in accordance with BS 7671 (IET Wiring Regulations, 18th Edition) and the relevant Building Regulations (Part P).
- We are registered with NICEIC as an Approved Contractor and will notify all required notifiable works to the relevant Local Authority on your behalf.
- An Electrical Installation Certificate (EIC) or Minor Works Certificate will be issued upon completion, where required.
- Certification is issued only for works carried out by us. We accept no liability for pre-existing installation defects that fall outside the agreed scope.
5. Liability and Insurance
- We carry full Public Liability Insurance and Employers’ Liability Insurance. Details are available upon request.
- Our liability in connection with any works shall not exceed the total value of the contract under which the liability arises.
- We shall not be liable for any indirect, consequential, or economic loss arising from our works, including loss of income, loss of use, or loss of data.
- We are not responsible for damage caused by pre-existing faults, customer-supplied materials, or interference with completed works by third parties.
- Nothing in these Terms limits our liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, fraud, or any other matter that cannot be excluded by law.
6. Warranty
- We provide a 12-month workmanship guarantee on all electrical installations and repairs carried out by us, covering defects in our workmanship.
- Manufacturer warranties on parts and materials are passed to the Customer where applicable.
- The warranty does not cover damage caused by misuse, accidental damage, third-party interference, or acts of nature.
- Any warranty claim must be reported in writing to us at lee@ltp-electrical.co.uk within the warranty period.
7. Cancellation
- You may cancel a booking with a minimum of 48 hours’ notice without charge.
- Cancellations with less than 48 hours’ notice may incur a cancellation fee to cover lost time and any materials ordered.
- Where a deposit has been paid and materials ordered, costs incurred up to the point of cancellation will be deducted from any refund.
- We reserve the right to cancel or reschedule bookings in circumstances beyond our control (e.g. illness, emergency call-outs), with as much notice as reasonably possible.
8. Customer Responsibilities
- You must ensure that a responsible adult (aged 18 or over) is present at the property during all works.
- You must disclose any known hazards at the property (e.g. asbestos, structural issues) prior to the commencement of works.
- You are responsible for obtaining any necessary planning permissions, freeholder consents, or listed building consents that may be required before works begin.
- You must not modify or interfere with any completed installation without consulting us.
9. Dispute Resolution
In the event of a dispute, we encourage you to contact us in the first instance so we can seek to resolve the matter amicably. If a resolution cannot be reached, disputes may be referred to NICEIC’s complaints procedure or an independent Alternative Dispute Resolution (ADR) scheme. These Terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales.
